Harmony’s hallmark is our dedication to working closely with parents throughout the adoption process. We believe that giving you complete information, preparing you thoroughly and providing on-going support are keys to a successful adoption.

The Home Study Assessment is an essential element of all adoptions. You will be asked to provide documents that include an application, autobiography, medical history, financial history, personal and professional references, and criminal background checks.

The Home Study Assessment also includes personal interviews with you and with family members living in your home. Harmony’s assessment process is uniquely designed to educate and prepare you for adoption as well as to assess your life circumstances. Rest assured that our staff will make every effort to be respectful and supportive throughout this sensitive process.

The cost for a domestic Home Study Assessment is $1,000 and the study is valid for six months. Updating the study requires a minimum amount of time, usually only a phone call and the cost is minimal as well.

The cost for an international Home Study Assessment is also $1,000. This study is valid for 18 months, generally enough time to complete your adoption. Any significant changes, new employment, new home, etc. will require that we do a more extensive update. Our time will be billed at $100 per hour.
